Vilnius Film Festival 2019
Vilnius International Film Festival (Vilnius IFF) Kino Pavasaris is the biggest and most important cinema event in Lithuania. Over more than 20 years, the festival has become a highly-attended cultural phenomenon. The 2018 edition of the festival was visited by 116,551 viewers – 2,300 more than last year. This year, Vilnius IFF took place in 11 cities over two weeks – more than ever before .

Street Music Day 2019
Street Music Day (translation from Lithuanian – Gatvės muzikos diena, for short – GMD) – traditionally organized on the third Saturday of May is the day when professional musicians and amateurs come out to perform in the streets, courtyards and squares of many Lithuanian cities. You can hear various genres of music, includin rock, classical, jazz, avant-garde, folklore, African rhythms, musicians perform various music related performances with various musical instruments (even heaters). Other movements of street art are joining the music. The Street Music Day team has a big dream about making it the celebration of music, street culture, community and freedom of creativity.

On Friday, July 6th 2018, the event of restoring the Grand Hall of the Grand Dukes took place, attended by the supreme heads of state, foreign guests.
A free open air movie program launched in Kaunas
Guests will be able to enjoy free sessions before July 27th. The films will be shown in two places – the amphitheater, near the Kaunas Castle and Panemunės Šilas, near the Bridge of Three Virgins.
12th Annual Design Week Lithuania Festival
On May 1-7, the 12th and the only such design festival in Lithuania – DESIGN WEEK will take place. During the festival visitors will be invited to get acquainted with the tendencies of the field of Lithuanian and foreign design, while the creators will present their latest works to the creative and curious audience of the festival.
This year’s festival program holds over 130 unique events, which are organized even in six cities of the country – Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, Telšiai and Anykščiai. As usual, the activities of the festival are divided into three main categories: young country designers will display their artworks in shop windows of cafes and shops located in the city center, specialized salons will be invited to exhibitions and news presentations. During the whole week, various events organized by the participants of the festival – exhibitions, creative workshops, lectures, film shows, high schools and other events will take place.
Learning Factory workshop
Business and higher education institutions are invited to register for training on eco-design and the benefits of the circular economy. The training will present a unique methodology that will help you discover and integrate eco-design solutions in your everyday life.
The training will be conducted by experts Max Marwede (Germany) and Tapani Jokinen (Finland).
Fashion Infection XX
The Fashion Infection festival was launched in 1999 and has become most prominent festival of fashion and culture. Fashion Infection brings together young talents and fashion professionals from Lithuania and abroad. Fashion Infection affirms ideological freedom and is looking for new talents, but not for the representatives of commercial glamour. Those who do not shout out loud but always have something to say are welcomed here. We do not present posh brands, but interesting oddities and eccentric upstarts whose ideas do not always receive the immediate recognition of the nation.

2018 Vilnius Film Festival will take place in 11 different cities
On March 15, The biggest film festival in Lithuania, “Cinema Spring”, will be moving to Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Alytus, Marijampolė, Utena, Gargždai, Anykščiai and Varėna next day. These 11 city festivals will be held until March 29th. Ticket sales start on March 1st. Tickets purchased on that day will be subject to a special discount.
Forum on "Culture, city, region"
The main annual event of the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries is coming – the Cultural Forum – “CULTURE, City, Region”. In Vilnius City Hall in 2017 December 12 Officials from state and municipal institutions, heads of cultural and creative industry organizations, leaders, experts, and media representatives are invited to attend the forum.
DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA 2018: May 7-13
DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA is an annual event dedicated to the synthesis of insightful solutions, original ideas and professional performance while highlighting the value of good design. All the latest artwork, concepts and products are welcome to join the festival in various forms.
In 2018 the festival will take place on May 7 – 13 in six cities of Lithuania – Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Telšiai and Anykščiai.
Kaunas International Film Festival returns in November
After a brief pause, Kaunas International Film Festival returns to Kaunas’ cultural scene. The tenth anniversary edition of the festival with take place between the 30th of November and the 13th of December at Romuva cinema, the Culture and Events Centre of Kaunas University of Technology and other spaces.

Lithuanian filmmakers and open lectures at the ESoDoc session in VilniusDESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA 2018: May 7-13
The third training session of ESoDoc (European Social Documentary) starts in Vilnius this week. Three more documentary filmmakers from Lithuania have been selected to participate in the session along with other professionals from all over the world. 22 ESoDoc participants will be joined by the producer Rasa Miškinytė with the project Exemplary Behaviour (directed by Audrius Mickevičius) as well as the filmmaker Gerda Paliušytė and producer Gabrielė Vaičiūnaitė who will take part without projects. They are not the only Lithuanians at the ESoDoc 2017 – at the beginning of this year the producer Živilė Gallego with her project in development Vital Selection and the director Virginija Vareikytė with the documentary Kupiškis Project were selected for all three training sessions.
The third session of the ESoDoc 2017, which is to be held in Lithuania for the first time, will take place on October 15–21. A week-long training session is organised by ZeLIG School for Documentary in partnership with the Lithuanian Film Centre and in collaboration with the international human rights documentary film festival “Inconvenient Films”. It is supported by the EU’s Creative Europe MEDIA Programme.
Poland – guest country of DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA 2017
In early May, during DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA festival, so far the biggest presentation of Polish design in Lithuania will be held. Citizens and guests of Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda cities will be invited to visit even five unique exhibitions representing contemporary Polish design scene. Such in-depth presentation was possible to arrange in collaboration with Polish Institute in Vilnius, Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw and Lithuanian Design Forum.
Exhibition: ROUNDABOUT BALTIC
May 3 – 15 international exhibition “Roundabout Baltic” will visit Vilnius for the very first time. The exhibition will be held at the Museum of Applied Art and Design. The European Film Forum in Vilnius – a new generation of European filmmakers challenge Hollywood European cinema has huge creative potential. However, new talented filmmakers face an uphill battle against Hollywood in the box office. On April 6, during Vilnius IFF organized conference Meeting Point – Vilnius, European filmmakers will gather to discuss opportunities at the most important industry event in the continent – the European Film Forum.
The European Commission introduced the European Film Forum in 2015. Its goals are to strengthen European cinema’s competitive ability, help filmmakers find their audience in Europe and internationally, introduce opportunities and challenges in the digital age, and provide the best examples in audiovisual marketing.
3rd Modern Applied Art Fair "CRAFT VILNIUS '16"
November 24-27 this year The 3rd International Applied Art Fair “Craft Vilnius ’16” will open the door for visitors in Vilnius. For four days, 102 artists from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Israel, Russia will present their works here. Ceramics, textile, leather and glass designers and costume designers and furniture designers will display exclusive jewelry collections, clothing accessories and interior artistic accents on their stands. The idea of community life, meeting with artists and the improvement of professional skills is based on the idea of this year’s fair “Craft Vilnius ’16”.
Baltic Art/mosphere creative workshop
On September 21 and 28, the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries invited senior schoolchildren to discuss environmental issues based on artistic and scientific tools. During two days of creative workshops VGTU engineering graduate students performed chemical tests and comics.

The International Art Fair “ArtVilnius’16” will take place for the 7th time in the “Litexpo” Exhibition and Congress Center. The largest visual arts event in the Baltic States offers a great program for visitors this year.
The fair will host 60 contemporary art galleries from Belarus, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Russia, Ukraine and Germany.
